Data Analyst
Hardwick-Day, Inc.
Hardwick Day, a national consulting firm serving private colleges and universities, seeks a talented and professional data analyst whose work will support clients’ recruitment and financial aid activities, policies, and operations. (www.hardwickday.com)
Qualifications
· One year of paid or intern experience in public policy analysis, micro economic analysis, management accounting, and/or mathematically-based modeling
· Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or related field , preferably from a private college or university.
· Familiarity with Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and one of the major statistics software programs.

Position Description
The data analyst is a key and integral part of a small team focused on finding data-based insights to help optimize enrollment outcomes for colleges. The analyst works along with an experienced enrollment professional in order to interpret the real-world implications and interpretation of the analysis and in order to make recommendations for operations, strategies, and tactics both short and long term.
The data analyst collects and assembles student-related data, prepares descriptive charts and graphs and constructs forecasting models based on statistical analysis. Step by step, this involves:
· Sending data requests to clients
· Testing data for integrity and working with clients to correct errors
· Using data to create variables for statistical analysis
· Creating charts and graphs for inclusion in reports to clients
· Creating power point presentations
· Assisting the principals of the firm in webcast and on-site presentation of analysis
· Answering ad hoc data-related questions
This position requires travel to 3-5 college campuses during the months of September and October and intermittently throughout the rest of the year.
