Kimberly Johnson

Kim Johnson uses 15 years of admission expertise from both public and private institutions to assist Hardwick-Day clients with undergraduate, graduate, and professional admission programs and recruitment; improving operations, tactics, and execution; and conducting program turnarounds with Ruth Vedvik.

Kim spent eight years in admission at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign working with freshman recruitment (predominantly out-of-state prospects), transfer articulation, and budget and human resources. At Illinois, where she worked for Ruth, she managed a budget of over $6 million, oversaw human resources, and led the staff development program.

Kim then worked for seven years at Creighton University, in professional school admission. Most recently, she was director of admission for the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. At Creighton, Kim redesigned the admission web site and publications and implemented use of centralized application services and electronic access to applications. Over the last four years of her tenure at Creighton, the University experienced an increase in applications and enrollment with high program yield rate.

Kim held a secondary appointment as an academic advisor for pre-professional students during which time she was recipient of the annual Outstanding Pre-Major Advisor award and was involved with University-wide retention. Kim earned a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska.
