Net Price Calculators
Hardwick-Day designs customized Net Price Calculators for private colleges and universities. These calculators are an opportunity to reinforce value propositions and increase consideration from families who question the value of a private college experience.
Hardwick-Day's Net Price Calculator meets and exceeds the federal requirements in order to integrate institutional brand and enrollment goals. Our fully customizable "web 2.0" technologies take advantage of enhanced transparency to increase interest without telegraphing a school's exact awarding strategies. The calculator fits seamlessly within existing institutional webpages and can easily be styled to match a college or university's website precisely; visitors may not even realize they are using a third-party tool.
Hardwick-Day's calculator can utilize the Federal Methodology, Institutional Methodology, or another system for determining Expected Family Contribution (EFC). After estimating EFC, the calculator applies a college's individual financial aid award strategies to provide an accurate estimate of scholarship and grant amounts a family can expect based on academic merit and financial need.
Estimating EFC within the calculator allows your institution to simultaneously avoid inaccurate averages that may substantially under- or overstate gift aid and disguise gapping. Hardwick-Day has simplified the EFC estimation process, where possible, to avoid overwhelming families with hard-to-answer questions.
Interactive technologies provide a smart, responsive interface that helps to minimize confusion and visually depict the components of the estimated award package. This package also indicates how the college or university would meet financial need not met by gift aid, including student employment and Federal loans. Each component of the award package calculation and display can be deeply customized on both aesthetic and functional levels.
The questions and results that comprise the calculator are accompanied by the necessary caveats, explanatory language, and messaging to reinforce the unique strengths and goals of an institution.
The following links to Net Price Calculators are a sampling of the 60+ calculators Hardwick-Day has developed.
