As a data analyst, Danielle helps clients turn data into actionable information. Danielle joined Hardwick Day in 2011 after three years as an institutional researcher at Inver Hills Community College. Before that, she spent several years working for college access programs such as College Possible and Upward Bound. As an institutional researcher, Danielle was involved in all aspects of how a college uses data, ranging from accreditation to enrollment reporting to designing and administering student surveys.
Danielle earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Macalester College in 2004 and a Master’s degree in Education (Prevention Science) from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2007.
In her spare time, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and wrangling her yard into a garden.
First job: During one summer in high school, I worked at a small family-owned amusement park near my hometown in upstate NY. I often ran the Tilt-A-Whirl, where my expertise was in making the ride spin just enough to be fun but not so much that I’d have to clean up vomit.
Favorite class in college: Social Psychology.
What have you learned about colleges that you didn’t expect? Before working at Hardwick-Day, I didn’t realize the extent to which many colleges are dependent upon tuition revenue.
What’s the best thing about the people you work with? Most of them have a great sense of humor.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten? Don’t give unsolicited advice.
